Game Summary: Line Shifts in the GHL?

|
For the first time in GHL history, the GHL had 2 lines of 4 on each team, resulting
from the 19 players that showed up to play. It was a big night, but not only for this reason. Brent Larson returned
tonight, and scored the first goal of the night. He added one more goal and an assist to come back with a 3 point night.
"Is the league a little tougher this year?" Brent Larson was asked in a press conference. "I think the expansion has
been good for the league, commercially. It's always tougher, I just need to adjust, and it might take a little
time."
Rookies were the big story tonight. In Scott Schumacher's second appearance,
he scored 6 goals, including a hat trick) and had an assist for a 7 point night, earning 1st star of the game, and
tying year totals (12 points) with the other rookie phenomenon Travis Alvine, who had 6 points tonight, and received
2nd star. Also, in his rookie debut, Sam Martin, slipped in back to back goals including a game winner.
Rookie Jason Schumacher, also in his debut, also scored 2 goals that included a game winner. Zack Kvidt added a
goal for the rookies. Rookies combined points tonight.....18!
The GHL also, for the first time in the 07-08 season played 4 games in the series, due to the
fact that it was vaccation. GHL Black won the series 3-1 over GHL Silver. Travis Peach had 3 wins on the night
and a solid 3.50 GAA. "It was good to see him come off his worst start and all the controversy, and have a dandy night
in goal," said the commissioner after the game.
Zack Brorby made his first appearance on the year and had a decent game with 2 points. Andrew
had a fantastic 5 goal night, that ties him for 3rd in player rankings. He received 3rd star as he helped his team onto 3
wins. Collin Grotte got his first point of the year on an attractive assist to his older brother Jason Grotte.
That assist could be the key for Collin in opening the floodgates. Jason Grotte was kept in check the whole night, only
scoring a goal, a season low for the now ranked 2nd player in the GHL.
