One day before Friday the 13th, the GHL held their 13th series that was composed
of only two games. Why was it only two games? The first game of the series was believed to be the longest game
in GHL history, lasting a good hour and a half before being settled on a Travis Alvine goal, but only after failing to put
the puck in the net via many decent chances. "I could not capitalize on my chances early on, so it felt good to put
in a game winner," reported the exhausted offensive defenseman after the game. Not only was it the longest
GHL game in history, but it was also believed by the players in attendance to be the best game too. "It was
the most fun we've ever had in a GHL game," offered Commissioner Kelly Grotte about the game. Many were in agreeance.
From the goalies to the goals scored, everything about the game seemed extraordinary. The only thing the league
was missing was GHL sniper Brent Larson, who was unfortunately tied up in agent problems. It was his first miss of the
season, and many would not be surpised if it were his last. He has shown as much commitment to the GHL as anybody through
the years.
There are some, however, that believe GHL's Zach Myron is dealing with commitment
issues for several reasons. Myron made his first appearance in a coon's age tonight, after missing multiple
series for various unverified reasons. The most heartbreaking story however for U.S. Myron fans is that, in
the GHL vs. Canadians International Game, well.... he played for the Canadians. Zach claims that he was forced
by the Canadians to play for them. The circumstances are still under investigation by the GHL Board of Governors.
Myron also assured the league that his recent absences have nothing to do with his lack of allegiance to the league.
Kelly Grotte has backed his best two way player in the league by releasing a statement,
"A good hockey player plays where the puck is, a great one plays where the puck is gonna be. Zach
(Myron) is a great hockey player."
