Game Summary: Myron Boys' Physical Play
 |
 |
All year long, neither Zach Myron nor Tytus have been sent to the sin bin. Tonight
was a different story. Tonight, one might have described the brothers as the "bash brothers", or the or the "boarding
brothers", and consequently; the "bin brothers". The "bin brothers" received each's first penalty of the year for boading,
less than five minutes apart, obviously making a statement that they were going to play physical in an attempt to dominate
the series, and it worked, their team scored shorthanded anyway, and they ended up winning four out the five games.
"My only regret is that my grandma and grandpa, Tom and Mavis, will find out and they will be heatbroken," said
the half-heatbroken Ty Myron
Brandon Hellevang was not a likely canidate for goalie. He kicks field goals. Could he stop
a puck? What one has to do with the other, who knows, but that was the question everybody on the ice had when Brandon
became the 11th goalie to dawn the pads of a netminder. He "tightened" as KG would say after the first game and became
a goalie that kept his team in contention, however, when it was all said and done, Brandon only came out with a win in 5 games.
It wasn't all his fault however: his team seemed very flat tonight. The chemistry was not there tonight, which is unusual
for a KG-JG-NR punch, three generally hard workers who got it handed to them tonight. It also didn't help that Andrew
Grotte was on his game tonight. One could tell that the play of Andrew Grotte was inspired, maybe because of recent
alleged "GHL disloyalty accusations" or maybe because he just wanted to make up for lost time, ok, it was only one series,
but either way he played with vigor. He scored 7 goals and had an assist for an 8 point total including 2 game winners.
PLAYER NOTES:
Andrew Grotte returns to score 7 goals, an assist, and two game winners, en route to four out of five wins
and receiving first star of the night.
Zack Kvidt stays hot and equals AG's performance except the game winners and the 4 wins.
Zach Riveland pulls away from other goalies in the wins categorie (17)
Myron stays atop the GHL Player Rankings.
There are now only 2 players who have played every game
this season(61)
---Nich Riveland----Jason Grotte----CONGRATULATIONS!!
