Mark
Schmitz Trophy
The Mark Schmitz Trophy is an annual award given to the goalkeeper judged to
improve the most at this position over the course of the season in a poll by the Grotte Hockey League Player's Association.

Zach Riveland becomes the first player in GHL history to win the same award three years in a row. This award is especially impressive
to win consecutively because it means that you're improving immensely each year. Zach improved so much this year, he
also won the most valuable goalie trophy making a clean sweep of goalie trophies except the GAA trophy. Zach was stellar
in net this year and more importantly, reliable. THe competition was stiffer this year as well considering there were
13 different goalies who played in the league this season.

Zach Riveland, was voted as MIG for the second year in a row due to his relentless effort and time devoted to
becoming a better puck stopper. He still doesn't win the majority of his games, but he's there making an effort to do
so.
