2/20/07 Game Summary

Zach Riveland argueably played his best series ever in goal tonight.  In the first game, he prevented the puck from entering the net and shut down the opposing team 5-0.  But the shutout was unofficial because the other team lacked a goalie, due to Travis Peach's absence to Mexico.  Zach Riveland's team, Zach Brorby, Ty , Tim, and Jason, who were dominant in the first game against Kelly, Andrew, Nich, and Jamyn, controlled the puck, created a lot of shot opportunities, and played physical down low.  The second game however was a different story.  Ty Myron suited up in goal for his team, and Zach Riveland was traded for Kelly.  After letting up two quick goals due to positioning problems, Zach, with some help of the pipes didn't allow a single goal, even with the constant perpetual effort of Kelly's team.  Zach had some great saves, some routine saves, and some lucky saves, but also got the pipe to contribute with six saves. Meanwhile, his team looked like the Toewes, Oshie, and Duncan line in Andrew, Nich, and Jamyn.  Jamyn played the role of Duncan and created some great plays out there.  He always seemed to be in the right position to make something happen, whether it was a pass or a shot.  He looked as solid as he has all year and even got a couple of goals to show for it.  Nich and Andrew were like Toewes and Oshie in the fact that they could get to the net, but didn't know what to do with it once they got there.  They would either throw it right into Ty's pads, or hit the pipe, or miss completely.  But eventually they got the job done and finished with a strong 5-2 win.  No third game was played for the second night in a row, and there was no shootout, so there was really no clear cut winner of the series, however, Zach Riveland was the only player to win twice because of the trade.
