There is a sense of urgency in the air at the GHL rink and Jason Grotte felt it.
The possible MVP canidate stormed the series with 5 goals and a couple of assists along with two game winners. The kid
knows how to score. "Work hard, get in position," said Jason about his scoring philosophy. It seems to work, Grotte
is near the top of the GHL this year in goals and wins, climbing even closer to the number one spot, and just in time.
The GHL could end as early as this week as the weather heats up. Meanwhile, the GHL is very heated as there is a very
close race at the top of the player leaderboard, as well as goaltender competition.
Jake Martin remains in good position after scoring 5 goals in his outbreak
of a GHL season.
Larson and Riveland remained relatively quiet, collectively scoring
3 points, while Andrew Grotte got three goals of his own.
Goaltender Ryan Hoff has won his last 5 games and in dominating fashion.
Travis Peach was disgusted after losing the second game that was the tail end of a 5 game slide. The goalie who has been so
solid and consistent in the 09 GHL season could not handle another loss and was replaced by goaltender Zach Riveland who scored
2 goals earlier in the series.
The 3rd game ended in a tie, 4-4, as decided by commissioner Kelly Grotte. A shootout was held
to decide the game in which Silver edged out Black.
The ice was extremely soft as a result of the mild weather of March.
