It was a day that was meant to be in the GHL World. 14th Series on the 14th of the month in
a, 4 game, pefect weather, series that included a Chili feed to follow.
It was not a player who earned 1st Star tonight. No, it was Joni Grotte, wife of commissioner
Kelly Grotte, who was first star in the hearts of all the GHLers, as she prepared an exceptional meal for the league at the
League's annual Luncheon, following GHL tradition and the day's games. Joni made chili for the league and racked up
a ton of points in the player's eyes with her heaving helping of hospitality. It was not just chili on the menu, however;
it was a hat trick of a meal that included chips and dip and bread and goodies and drinks for all the league. It was
a bad day to miss, and a great day to show.
Myron showed and he must have been hungry. In a day and age where it is hard to score a goal
in the GHL, much less multiple goals, Myron returned to his old sniper self to do just that as effectively and efficiently
as GHL possible and set the 08-09 GHL Single Series record with 9 goals,including 2 game winners, and earing himself
1st star.
Zach Riveland also had his way tonight, gettting 3 out of the 4 wins against the top current goaltender
in the league, Travis Peach. Although his team was very supportive, Zach played solid and made the saves necessary for
the series win, "i finally got her done, I've played welll enough to get her done before, but tonight, the puck bounced our
way, or should i say their way...into their net for a change."
Peach was disgusted in his team and performance and had no comment for the GHLN media. The
1-3 goaltender was no where to be seen at the luncheon.
Brent Larson remained as hot as gunsmoke tonight having his way and getting another 5 points.
